Trek Emonda SL6 Ultegra 56 w/ upgraded wheels in Bournemouth, Dorset for sale

Trek Emonda SL6 Ultegra 56 w/ upgraded wheels

Reluctantly I am selling my Emonda SL6 due to a need for funds and a lack of riding time as I have an 11 month old son (see my other items for a jumperoo, buggy travel system and Vtech walker). It has had roughly 400 miles of use with about 1/3 of this on the rollers, as such it is in great shape. With 105 pedals and Elite cages this weighed 7.4kg. These are not included, this is just a reference for the weight. If you are unfamiliar with the Emonda range it is a trickle down of the lightest production road bike ever made. The theme is minimalism, resulting in clean lines visually and a genuine balance between power transfer and ride comfort. It's exceptionally comfy for a race bike. It has a semi integrated seatmast unlike the lower end frames as well as a more minimal appearance. See reviews at BikeRadar and the Velominati page for more detail. For reference I am 5' 9" with medium flexibility. This was more comfortable than the 54 I tested and the uncut fork has a lot of steerer should you need to reposition the stem. The sizing is fairly sensible, if you normally ride a 56; this will fit. It is stock as per the Trek website (50/34 172.5 chainset, 11-28 cassette), however I upgraded to handbuilt wheels, tyres and tubes. The wheelset are a build of Stans Alpha 340 24/28h rims on Novatech Super Light A291SB-SL & F482SB-SL hubs using Sapim Race double butted spokes. These feature 'anti-bite guard' which is a steel spline on the aluminium freehub body. They are easy to service and contain standard sized premium Japanese cartridge bearings. Many boutique wheel builders use these, they are top of the NT range. Spokesman wheels are selling the heavier Alpha 400 rim on the same hubs for £395 a pair to give you a reference. Wheelset weight; 1.42kg. The rims are tubeless ready, internal width is 17mm or 20mm external which works very well to provide a more stable, aerodynamic tyre profile. Rims are true and the brake track looks barely worn with the machining still very clear. The tyres are Onza Preda 23mm which have 120TPI, double puncture protection and weigh 205g. The durometer is a grippy 65a/55a combination. I've had 2 other sets on previous bikes and they are excellent. Specialized Turbo lightweight tubes fitted. The bike is in great condition aside from some minor scratches to the driveside crank arm (chain slipped when using the Park cleaner) and a minor paint chip to the alloy dropout on the non-drive side when my other half knocked the bike with the high chair. I have left it to be honest rather than attempt to conceal it. This is reflected in the price. The frame has been matte helitaped from new so there is no rub. There is a preset 5nm torque wrench included, when building/adjusting I used a proper adjustable torque wrench. It has never been dropped, crashed, mis-treated or abused. I am the original owner and the paper work is included. I would also consider selling the bike with a pair of black Mavic Aksiums for £1250. These are in good condition with smooth bearings and true rims. Any questions please feel free to ask, thanks for looking.
